Titanic Rolls Royce
A 101 year old Rolls Royce Silver Ghost built for one of the men behind the building of Titanic will return to Northern Ireland for the first time in 85 years. The car which is named after the iconic RMS Titanic was made to order for Hardland and the chairman Lord Pirie shortly before the ship was launched in 1911. IT will be the star attraction of at the annual vintage classic and sports car show in Newcastle which is held next month. Lord Pirrie was instrumental behind the Titanic and was the man behind the White Star Line known as the Titanic’s sister.
Car show visitors will come all over England to view this car and the name plate even says Titanic Ghost. It has been sold on since Lord Pirrie death in 1924 and shall now be auctioned once again. It did own to an American owner in the 1980’s and has only just returned to the UK in 2000 to begin its four restorian processes.
